Verbascum: Contemporary overview of how WUAS is developing as a non-profit online MIT OCW-centric University, the Developing WUaS SUBJECT TEMPLATE as platform, Adding a language site to wiki a) World University and School or b) the WUaS Corp?, Both of our a) World University and School and b) WUaS Corporation PLATFORMS are under development - and planning for all 7,099 living languages as a) wiki schools and b) academic markets

Dear Muvaffak GÖZAYDIN,

Thanks for your email - and re - http://worlduniversityandschool.org. Congratulations on your creativity and generativity - re your www.mguniversity2017.org - in this time of much online creative opportunity education-wise.

By way of comparison, World University and School is navigating the Creative Commons' licensed CC-4 MIT OCW (in its 7 languages currently) ship of resources, which allow for "sharing" "adapting" and "non-commercially" (as well as the CC Yale OpenYaleCourses) but thanks to MIT Dean of online learning Cecilia d'Oliveira's suggestion, WUaS also is adding to all of our non-profit CC web pages this disclaimer:

(MIT OCW Creative Commons' licensing and endorsement clarifications:
a) MIT is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, World University and School b) MIT does not offer credit to WUaS students, and c) All MIT OpenCourseWare materials are available for free through http://ocw.mit.edu)

So, World University and School is planning to offer free online CC MIT OCW-centric university degrees in all ~200 countries' official languages - and to become the Harvard/MIT/Stanford/Cambridges of the internet.

WUaS is also seeking to become major online RESEARCH universities in all ~200 countries' official languages - like Harvard/MIT/Stanford/Cambridge - and to offer Bachelor, Ph.D., law and MD degrees as well as I.B. high school diplomas (hopefully with Medicine and Law OpenCourseWare emerging out of Stanford University in all ~200 nation states' official languages).

World University and School is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) in the state of California / U.S. And WUaS Corporation just forked from World University and School with plans for an academic press, and online bookstore/computer store in all ~200 countries' official languages. Both of our a) World University and School and b) WUaS Corporation PLATFORMS are under development - and planning for all 7,099 living languages as a) wiki schools and b) academic markets.

a) World Univ & Sch's monthly business meeting is this Saturday (second Saturdays)

b) WUaS Corporation Board meeting will meet newly on the following Saturday (and so on third Saturdays) ... in order for CEO Julian Dumitrascu (in Romania), and Board members Diana Do MD (at Stanford) and Kyle Wagner (in Hong Kong) to be able to meet more easily (hopefully).

WUaS is seeking to attract highest achieving students over time - such as would apply to and get into Harvard/MIT/Stanford/Cambridge, for example, - and graduate from these universities as well.

Books are a real issue in translating CC MIT OCW under the CC-licensing regime, and WUaS hopes to make this easier with our WUaS Academic Press with machine translation, which I think, will get toward professional translation within a few years.

WUaS would also like to become a major employer in all 7,099 living languages, each a wiki school for open teaching and learning / in all ~200 nation states' official languages as major universities ... and we'd like to graduate our students with degrees so they can develop successful careers at World University and School, and in the world at large (so like MIT / Stanford degrees) ... but the web-centricity of WUaS will make these very new kinds of university degrees unique.

In doing so, WUaS would like to begin with hiring graduate students, for example from the Stanford / Harvard / MITs of the world to teach to the MIT faculty in video ...  in group video conferencing - so face-to-face online ...

I hope this comparative perspective for starters helps. Thank you for your email, and let's keep in touch. (And apologies that I don't speak Turkish). In what ways might you like to explore potential collaborations, Muvaffak ?

Regards, Scott

Dear Scott MacLeod

I have been following you for about 15 years now  particularly your World Universities .

As an engineer I am always after  quality and price . That optimisation .

Now I created  a World University  for 8 bilion people of the world .

1.- It is open to 8 billion people of the world .

2.- It provides 5 masters degrees now, but soon it will have

10 BA degree progrfam
20 master degree programs.

3.-  It is all free .

4.-  No previous diploma is required. No BA degree, no high school diploma .

5.-  Courses are selected among 7.500 online courses provided by top universities under the name MOOCs.
Courses for degree requirement are selected very carefully. Only top schools, top courses . No university has this opportunity.

6.  As you know courses are not easy, so students take only one online course for each 3 months periods . 4 courses per year .

7.-  One can get courses from Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Duke , Yale, Oxford, Technical University of Muınich, London Business School,
750 universities are available. But mguniversity selected only very very top universities .

8.-  In a degree program students can mix the schools. 2 courses from Harvard, 3 courses from Stanford, 1 course from MIT , 1 course from Oxford.
Any combination  is ok .

9.-  Some universities may ask some ID verification fee, otherwise it is all free .

10.-  Administration duties are all automated by a software .

11.-    Registrations, course selection , diploma requirement control, diploma issuing all done by software .
University has only one President no other people are required .

12.-  Just go to  www.mguniversity2017.org , make your registration, major selection  ,  an online course selection  in 2 minutes .

13.-  Scott you may call it World University. I do not mind .

Many improvements can be made .

Selection of required courses by top expert professors
BA programs decisions
Convincing of top schools to provide new online courses better and same as on campus courses
Quality of MOOCs must be increased .
Improve online technology, go to personalized learning .Schools should charge only $ 100 per course  no  different verification fees .
See new Google Pixtel Bud  translation software within seconds . That means all courses can be provided in any language you w ant .

Dear Scott :

I would appreciate your comment s.

Best regards .

Adding a language site to wiki a) World University and School or b) the WUaS Corp?

Hello,

I have seen you have listed some links about learning
languages at http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Courses

Just wondering if you could also add https://www.learnwitholiver.com/ to
the list, which is a innovative site to learn languages.

It has some nice features like your own word lists, mouseover
explanations, a flashcard feature, a text analyzer.

I would love to hear your feedback about my site.

Regards,
Oliver

Hi, Oliver,

Thanks for your email. As a wiki (open editable web pages), and as World University and School moves to our new wiki, we'll seek to develop (probably Wikipedia-informed) processes and approaches to adding free and open content. We've recently developed a new parallel organization - the WUaS Corporation - which may be a better fit for https://www.learnwitholiver.com ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/oliverantosch/ ).

Our emerging policies in terms of free and open content criteria for adding to wiki World University and School will partly be based on similar URLs which have been added to WUaS thus far, as well as on highest quality resources.

Thank you,
Scott

the Developing WUaS SUBJECT TEMPLATE as platform

Hi Void,

Thanks so much for your email. How could we best talk through this further potentially beyond - https://phabricator.miraheze.org/T2276 ? I'll bring us in touch with some core Wikidata developers, such as Markus Kroetzsch, if that would help too. ...

Scott

a
WUaS template out of Miraheze Mediawiki

- WUaS SUBJECT TEMPLATE - based on - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/SUBJECT_TEMPLATE - and extrapolating to -

COURSE TEMPLATE - around CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare in 7 language (beyond the SUBJECT TEMPLATE)

LANGUAGE TEMPLATE (see SUBJECT TEMPLATE)
- planning for 7,099 living languages (in Ethnologue) / 8,444 language entries (in Glottolog)

NATION STATE TEMPLATE (see SUBJECT TEMPLATE)

Museums' TEMPLATE (see SUBJECT TEMPLATE) - planned in all 7,099 living languages+

Library Resources' TEMPLATE (see SUBJECT TEMPLATE) -  planned in all 8,444 languages+

How to plan, for example, for UNIVERSITIAN volunteer edit additions through these WUaS templates - e.g. such as adding phrases to a UNIVERSAL TRANSLATOR in their first language?

Much of this anticipates CC-4 (non-commercial licensing of CC MIT OCW and CC Yale OYC)

b
Take one subsection at a time - ttp://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/SUBJECT_TEMPLATE - and decide how to develop this?

c
(Does integrating the WUAS SUBJECT TEMPLATE with Miraheze Mediawiki and Wikimedia Foundation WMF Templates, make sense - especially re wikidata ? Possibly ...

d
(Planning for WUaS Bookstore / Computer Store in all 7,099 languages, and via WikiSource CC-0 licensing
No bookstore at this point )

e
but plan for CC-0 commercial Wikisource (per Lydia Pintscher), and also separately for Wikicite - with WMF Dario Taraborelli

f
Planning for a Wikidata contacts for Void

- working with other Wikidatan core developers - in all 295 languages, especially

Cheers,
Scott
